Acer K10 Projector Review

The Acer K10 projector is the first pocket projector to come from Acer. This little module features 100 ANSI lumens, a SVGA (858 x 600) resolution, and a 2000:1 contrast ratio. Recently, the writers from Tech Tree were able to review the K10 to see if it is worth the $443 price tag. The writers really liked how small the K10 is. The projector only measures 5″ x 4.8″ x 5″ (W x H x D) and it weighs just over a pound. The overall picture quality was fairly decent, given its size, although the writers were not impressed with the low brightness level. In order to project bigger sized images with the K10, the room has to be almost completely black. This doesn’t help any one who needs to use it for presentations where their listeners need to look at items other than the screen. Another problem that writers noticed was the projector could not maintain sharpness through out the display. The image would be sharp at the bottom of the screen, but then gradually get blurry the higher you look at the display. The final thought the writer made was, “This has got to be the smallest projector I’ve come across till date, the Acer K10 is ideal to carry along while traveling or if you simply want a large screen at home. The best part is its small size, which makes it easy to place anywhere. However, with its small size also come its shortcomings, like very low brightness level, which makes the projection look good only in a completely dark room. Also, the focus doesn’t seem to be even throughout the screen leaving text blurred in certain areas. And finally the price is on the higher side so before you can slip this into your pocket, you will need to empty it! ” [via Tech Tree ]
