Click here to view the embedded video. BMW is always using the latest technology to enhance their business. Their recent concept is to give their mechanics projection glasses to create an augmented reality interface. The glasses use mounted in the frame to display the interface onto the glasses’ lenses. The display overlaps the car’s mechanics with 3D images of what part needs to be moved, depending on which step the mechanic is on. The major concern about this concept is that it will possibly impede the mechanic’s sight and prevent them from seeing any other problems. The other outcry is that if this technology works and is marketed to the public, would it eliminate the need for mechanics in the first place. Fortunately though, mechanics can rest easy because it is only a concept right now and there is no information on when or if the augmented reality glasses will actually be made. [via Gizmodo ]
