Christie is a leader in digital cinema projection. Today, the company announced that they presented the world’s first full feature screening in 4K resolution DLP Cinema. The screening took place at the Mann Chinese theater complex in Hollywood California with the help of the Christie CP4230 projector. This model can display 32000 ANSI lumens, a 2100:1 contrast ratio, and 4K HD (4096 x 2160) resolution. “We were impressed by the 4K presentation of this timeless Hitchcock chase thriller,” said Wendy Aylsworth, SMPTE Engineering Vice President and Senior Vice President, Technology, Warner Bros. Technical Operations. “The image looked superb, and the audience gave the film enthusiastic and rave reviews. Both Motion Picture Imaging’s restoration and the digital presentation were excellent.” The movie that was suggested for this momentous occasion was Alfred Hitchcock’s North by Northwest.
