Today, Projector Reviews released their winners of their Best in Classroom Awards. These awards are to celebrate the best projectors that are used in the educational field. This year there was a tie for first place between the Epson PowerLite 85+ and the Optoma TX542. Both projectors are very similar, but also very different. They both feature a native XGA (1024 x 768) resolution. The 85+ also features 2600 ANSI lumens and a 2000:1 contrast ratio. The TX542 featured 2800 ANSI lumens and a 3000:1 contrast ratio. The Epson projector received the award because out of 13 different projectors, this was the model that the writers liked the most. It didn’t perform excellently in every area but it still is able to provide excellent colors, brightness, and extensive networking capabilities. The Optoma projector was also a favored projector, which is why it shared first place. It has strong network features, which is ideal for a school environment. The writers were also happy to see a long lamp life and an impressive color performance. It is also one of the few projectors they reviewed that actually came with an HDMI port.
