Firefly Project at Shanghai World Expo

Click here to view the embedded video. We have seen interactive floors before but this one is proudly on display at the Shanghai World Expo. The project is called Firefly and it uses a projector to display a circle of multi-colored fireflies onto the floor under it. Guests to the exhibit can walk, run, wave hands or even role over the screen in order to get a reaction. As the video above shows, the fireflies react to where the user is and fly away from their location. The faster the user moves the farther the flies scatter. While there really isn’t anything new with this display, it still is fun to watch. [via Yanko Designs ]
