Jakks Pacific EyeClops Mini Projector Review

The Jakks Pacific EyeClops Mini Projector is one of the most anticipated toys that will come out later this year. This pico projector features an LED lamp system and will be the first pico projector to retail for less than a $100. Recently, the writers from Gadget Tell got a first hand demonstration of the EyeClops in action. The projector is definitely built for portability. It’s small enough to fit in your hand and comes with an external battery pack. The downside however is that the battery pack requires D cell batteries, which means it probably won’t run long and will require purchasing expensive batteries. Fortunately though, the projector also comes with a power adapter as a backup for if you want the projector to be stationary for an extended period of time. The display is not the greatest and it almost completely useless in bright rooms, but in a darkened room, the picture is fairly decent. However, it’s obvious that the EyeClops projector will not be replacing business projectors anytime soon. At the end of their demonstration, the writers commented, “From the demo, the EyeClops Mini Projector seemed pretty interesting. It definitely is cooler than a lot of the toys I had when I was growing up. It might be worth getting just to have a quick second display to watch even more television or show off photos or videos. We’d need more time with the device before making a full recommendation. The EyeClops Mini Projector is still scheduled for a Fall 2009 release.” [via Gadget Tell ]
