MasterImage Announces Portable 3D system

Sponsors

MasterImage is one of the leading developers of 3D display technology. Recently, the company announced that they have developed a system that can turn virtually any cinema projector into a 3D projection system. The MasterImage 3D system is a portable unit that comes with a spinning wheel that is made of polarized filters. The setup is easy in that all you have to do is place the system in front of the projector so that the lens shines through the exposed filters. A 3D image is created by transforming images so that they can only be seen by either the right or left eye. The spinning wheel polarizes the individual images to create the 3D effect. The only other requirement for this system is that it requires a specialized silver screen and inexpensive 3D glasses. However, if an entire theater complex had silver screen, then they could simply move the 3D system from projector to projector, depending on which theater is showing the 3D movie. This system would be incredibly cheaper than buying 3D digital for each screen. Unfortunately, there is no word yet when this system becomes available. However, click the link below to see video of the MasterImage 3D system. [via Cinema Tech Geek ]
