Microvision is a leading developer of ultra-miniature projection display products. Today, the company announced that it has completed the design of a new ultra-miniature PicoP laser projection display engine. The company is known for its SHOW WX projector which uses laser technology to display WVGA (848 x 480) resolution, 10 ANSI lumens, and a 5000:1 contrast ratio. The new laser engine will be capable of displaying the same specifications, but it will consume only a third of the energy that the current display engine uses. The company has stated that in addition to the new engine’s completion, it also already begun shipping initial evaluation samples to prospective customers in order to get user feed back.
