Click here to view the embedded video. The Microvision laser technology is definitely going to be one of the future steps in pico projector evolution. Because the system uses lasers instead of LEDs or displays the image is always in focus. Recently, Microvision released video displaying their PicoP Evaluation Kit (PEK). This kit gives manufactures the base projector unit with out the casing, connections or speakers that will come with their SHOW WX projector. The kit allows manufacturers to see first hand how the laser projector works and also allows them to try to invent ways to integrate the unit into other products like laptops, digital cameras, cell phones, or anything else. In addition to the focus feature, laser projection systems provide a much clearer and more vibrant image, when compared to or DLP systems. This is because there is no light loss with the laser system. The PicoP system features an 858 x 480 resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio for widescreen displays. Microvision plans to release the PEK to manufacturers by the 2010 summer. [via Pico Projector Info ]
