The NEC NP901W is one of the company’s newest portable projectors. This projector displays 2000 ANSI lumens, a 400:1 contrast ratio, and a WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution. Recently, a writer from Linux User and Developer released their review of this projector. The major feature about this projector is its wireless network capability. This allows a user to use the projector anywhere in their building and have it connect instantly. NEC also designed this projector work just as good at home. The color was very good, but the writer thought that some of the colors were muted or dulled. Another feature that the writer liked was the extra wide resolution. The WXGA resolution uses a 16:10 aspect ratio, which allows users to display PowerPoint presentations with out having to reformat them for another aspect ratio. The final verdict that was made was, “The Wi-Fi connectivity opens up a whole host of practical possibilities, allowing the unit to connect to a nearby network and stream information. The movie playback isn’t the projector’s strong point; instead, its ability to act as the hub for data from various terminals to display slideshows etc proves to be the main advantage.” [via Linux User and Developer ]
