So what do you do when you want the feel of a drive in theater, but you just don’t have the space to build your own? Well the owners of this house decided to create their own with the help of some murals and some retro speakers. The theater is based off of the classic drive in theaters and includes two murals of cars sitting beside the theater. The ceiling is painted to look like space anomalies and stars. To really make the theater feel like a drive in they also installed steel light fixtures on poles and they even managed to find several old speaker systems that would play sound to each individual car. However even thought the theater sound retro, in truth it is fitted with a state-of-the-art entertainment system, which includes a 7.1 channel speaker system, a 129” screen, and a JVC DLA-HD750 projector. This model features 900 ANSI lumens, a 50000:1 contrast ratio, and 1080p HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. The inspiration for the theater was actual the owner’s parents, who actually owned a drive in theater and even proposed to each other at one. [via Electronic House ]
