Projectiondesign Unveils Cineo35 2.5k Projector

August 25th, 2010

Projectiondesign has a special treat for anyone coming to the IBC show on in September. They will be unveiling the Cineo35 2.5k projector, which is the world’s first compact projector that comes with a native 2.5k HD (2560 x 1600) resolution. This resolution is almost double 1080p HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, which makes the cineo35 ideal for large venues or theaters. Unfortunately though there isn’t a lot of additional information available at this time. Anders Løkke, Marketing & Communications Manager, projectiondesign, says, “Up until now, operators of small to medium-sized edit suites and preview rooms had to use large, cumbersome, and noisy if they wanted to display 2K resolution or higher. The cineo35 2.5k offers performance similar to, or better than, any digital cinema projector while weighing a fraction of the amount and measuring only half a metre across. Yet it can still throw an image up to 4m wide and, because it is based on Texas Instruments’ DLP® technology, what you see in preview is exactly what the movie-goer will see in a DLP Cinema® environment.” [via Projectiondesign ]

This year there is a new device being included into the college list, pico . These devices are ideal for college kids to give quick and easy presentations as well as take with them to a friend’s room for big screen video games or movies. Home Theater Equiped With Automatic Masking

August 19th, 2010

Sponsors

Not all movies are created equally. Most movies are created in one of several different aspect ratios. The problem though is that this means that the movies are compressed or stretched by the time they get to the consumer market. The best way to fix this problem is to have your own theater that can adjust to each aspect ratio. That is what this owner did when they decided to turn their new addition into a dedicated theater. The 12 foot wide curved screen is paired with a Digital Projection TITAN 1080p-250 projector. This model can display 2000 ANSI lumens, a 5000:1 contrast ratio, and full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. The owner’s library is controlled with a 200 disc Blu-ray changer and the projector and screen are programmed to adjust accordingly to each one. The screen comes with motorized masking capabilities, which moves the black bars so that they fit with the image. This helps make a nicer looking display. [via Electronic House ]
